Spring equinox marks the start of the spring season. It’s known as the return of the sun. It’s the season of new life, renewal and rebirth. A lot of ancient African societies mark this time as the start of the new year. In fact many ancient civilisations practiced solar worshiping before organised religion came about.
This year it didn’t resonate with me to celebrate the New Year in January; it didn’t feel right… I was finding myself questioning why would the new year be in Winter? Winter is for hibernation.
After extensive research I no longer celebrate the new year in the middle of the winter month of January. Every source I found did in fact prove that January 1st was replaced with March as the first Month of the year.
The earliest recorded calendar was the Roman calendar which started in March.
January was added to the Calendar and named after the ancient Janus Numa Pompilius, the second king of Rome (715–673 BC), was who divided the year into twelve lunar months.
All in all, the more I dive into my spiritually I realise a lot of things are just made to throw us off the natural cycle of life and for us not to be in touch with the truth.
The real new year is in March 19th-20th depending on the year) and it also aligns with the first sign of the zodiac, Aries which falls on March 21st.
This is the time when nature comes alive again and animals come out from hibernation. Plants start blooming, this new energy shift is the perfect time to kick start your goals and manifest. When we align with nature we will have a better chance of manifesting with ease. You may find that a lot more opportunities and doors open for you, this is because of the shift of energy in the new season.
